Tru Color Paint TH&B Marroon 1oz

Description

Tru-Color Paint is an acrylic solvent based paint that is designed to be airbrushed directly from the bottle without thinning. Tru-Color Paint can be blended to produce a variety of shades and hues for your specific product needs. Although Tru-Color Paint contains a small percentage of acetone we DO NOT RECOMMEND that acetone be used to thin (dilute) the Tru-Color Paint. Adding just acetone to thin Tru-Color Paint may harm the intended gloss or semi-gloss finish our paint is intended to give as it will dry too fast. Also, too much acetone will cause the solvent system to evaporate too quickly during air brushing causing the painted surface to appear rough and/or it may blush.

    First experience with TCP paint

I had used Scalecoat paint for decades, and I had a good stock of paint when that brand came up missing. I tried TCP for the first time in painting a couple of O scale GP-7 brass locomotives and found the paint to go on evenly and smooth. The advertisement for this paint reads it can be used directly from the bottle but I found it was far better by thinning about 10%. It could be my aging spraying equipment but I found it better to thin some and put on a number of very light coats.

Once dried in the finishing oven, it could be taped for masking very well. After masking I put on another coat near the tape to limit bleed under at details and when it was dry I was able to spray the second color with no problems.

    I really like this paint.
