Description
The EMD F7B “Booster” was used to supplement the power of passenger and freight trains in North America from the 40s through the 70s. This kit will produce an accurate non-powered (dummy) model of this locomotive in 1:450 scale.
MU this with a powered FP7 or two!
Recommended Tools:
Hobby knife
Tweezers
Small flat-head jewelers screwdriver
Krystal Klear or PVA adhesive, or White Tac gum
ACC adhesive (super glue)
Body Material and Painting:
This 3D printed shell is made from a custom-blend resin which is like plastic but slightly more brittle. If repairs are needed, superglue, UV activated cement, or epoxy works well. Resin sands easily (if needed) but note that resin dust can be irritating so wet-sanding and/or a small vacuum will help keep things tidy.
Primer should be applied before painting. Tamiya Fine Surface Primer from a rattle can is excellent and widely available. That being said, 3D resin accepts most primers without trouble; We have used various acrylic as well as lacquer primers.
Decorate per prototype reference photos. Note: CCE makes decal sets that are appropriate for several different F7B versions.
