Retail Shop

Important Announcement Regarding Our Retail Store

In March of 2025, we relocated our shop and small retail storefront from Cartersville, GA to Chattanooga, TN. At the time, our goal was to expand our operations, support our growing product lines, and provide a convenient in-person shopping option for local hobbyists.

However, only a few months later—in August of 2025—an incident occurred that changed the course of our plans. One of our employees was brutally assaulted by a customer of Doc Holiday’s, the neighboring establishment. The safety and well-being of our team has always been our highest priority, and after the assault we determined that continuing operations in the Chattanooga building was no longer safe or sustainable.

Out of an abundance of caution, we immediately vacated the location and temporarily paused in-person service while we sought a secure and stable space to continue our work. We have since moved all operations into a new, safe facility where our staff can work without concern.

Why We Closed the Retail Side of Our Business

The unexpected relocation forced us to reevaluate our business model and the future of our retail store. After reviewing our sales data, staffing needs, and the demands of our expanding house brands—including Scalecoat Paint, Fusion Scale Graphics, TrainSupply.com, Print It Decals, and more—we made the difficult decision to permanently close our physical retail storefront.

This decision was ultimately guided by several key factors:

1. Safety Comes First

The incident in August 2025 made it clear that operating a public storefront in that environment posed an unacceptable risk to our employees.

2. Online Sales Far Outpaced Retail Traffic

Even before the move, our online sales had significantly exceeded in-store sales. Closing the retail shop allows us to focus our time and resources where demand is strongest.

3. Our House Brands Require Full-Time Attention

With Scalecoat returning to market, new product lines launching, and our graphics/decals division expanding, it became increasingly difficult to give the retail storefront the attention it needed.

4. A Leaner, Safer, More Efficient Operation

Consolidating into a secure workspace allows us to streamline production, ship orders faster, improve customer service, and devote more energy to the products and services our customers rely on most.

What This Means for Our Customers

  • We are still fully operational online, and all orders will continue to ship quickly from our new facility.

  • Our retail closure does not affect our product catalog, inventory, or any of our brands.

  • We will continue offering the same products, services, and support—just without a public walk-in location.

We understand that some customers enjoyed visiting the store in person, and this was not a decision we made lightly. The safety of our team and the stability of our long-term operations must always come first.

Thank You for Your Support

We deeply appreciate the continued support, understanding, and encouragement from our customers throughout the transition. While the retail storefront is closed, we are excited about the future of our online operations and the many new products, improvements, and innovations we have planned.
