The Athearn HO Scale PS 4740 Covered Hopper BNSF #433182 accurately reproduces one of the most recognizable covered hopper designs found across North American railroads. Decorated in BNSF lettering and finished with Athearn's Primed for Grime® weathered appearance, this freight car captures the look of equipment that has spent years hauling grain, fertilizer, plastic pellets, and other dry bulk commodities in everyday railroad service.
Built from the successful Pullman-Standard 4,740 cubic foot prototype, this Ready-To-Roll model comes fully assembled and features body-mounted McHenry® operating knuckle couplers, free-rolling 36-inch machined metal wheelsets, roller bearing trucks, and razor-sharp paint and lettering. The lightly weathered finish provides a realistic in-service appearance right out of the box while remaining an excellent starting point for additional weathering.
