HO Scale Amtrak Superliners. The Amtrak Superliner I is a bi-level passenger railcar introduced in the late 1970s to enhance long-distance travel across Amtrak's western routes. Built by Pullman-Standard, these iconic cars feature two levels of seating and accommodations, offering panoramic views from large upper-level windows. Designed for comfort and capacity, the Superliner I fleet includes coaches, sleepers, diners, and lounges. With their spacious interiors, onboard amenities, and smooth ride, Superliners quickly became a symbol of modern American rail travel and remain a backbone of Amtrak’s long-distance service today.

Crisp, elegant detailing
Superior Detailing: All Kato Superliner cars and Material Handling Cars come with preinstalled detailing and thin railings. The passenger cars have complete upper and lower level interior detailing (which can be lit with the installation of an optional interior lighting kit 7-504), prototypical fluting on the exterior of the cars, and flush mounted and tinted windows. All cars have smooth rolling trucks with working bearing caps and shock absorber construction, and are weighted for a hefty feel and performance. The included Kinematic tight-lock couplers can be installed on both passenger and MHC’s.
