Atlas HO Code 100 1/2 18" Radius Curved Track – 4-Pack – ATL834 includes four short curved sectional track pieces designed for precise adjustments when building HO scale track plans. Each piece follows the same 18-inch radius as standard Atlas 18" radius curved track while providing a half-length curved section for greater flexibility when arranging fixed sectional track geometry.

These half sections are especially useful when a standard 18" radius curve would turn the track farther than needed. By maintaining the same 18" radius while providing a smaller amount of curvature, ATL834 helps model railroaders fine-tune where curves begin and end and align them with straight track, turnouts, crossings and other sectional track components.

Each section features solid nickel silver Code 100 rail and black injection-molded plastic ties, matching the construction and geometry of the traditional Atlas HO Code 100 track system.

What Does "1/2 18" Radius" Mean?

The 18" radius describes the actual radius of the curve. The 1/2 designation refers to the shorter arc of the track section compared with a standard Atlas 18" radius curved track piece.

In other words, this is not a 9" radius curve. It maintains the same 18" radius but turns the track through a smaller angle, giving you a useful adjustment piece for fixed sectional track plans.

Fine-Tune 18" Radius Curves

Sectional track uses predetermined lengths, radii and angles. While standard curved sections handle most of a curve, there are situations where another full section creates too much curvature before the track reaches its intended alignment.

A half-length 18" radius section provides another geometry option. It can be combined with standard 18" radius curved track to adjust the total amount of turn while maintaining a consistent 18" radius through the curve.

This makes ATL834 particularly useful around junctions, sidings, turnouts and other areas where the beginning or end of a curve needs to be positioned more precisely.
