Atlas HO Code 100 Manual Switch Machine – Left – ATL62 provides simple hand-operated turnout control for compatible Atlas HO Code 100 Snap-Switches. Once attached to the switch, the operator can flip the lever by hand to move the turnout points and select the desired track route.

ATL62 is the left-hand version of the Atlas Manual Switch Machine. It is an excellent choice for easily accessible turnouts where simple manual operation is preferred over electrical remote control.

Manual Control for Atlas Code 100 Snap-Switches

Atlas designed ATL62 specifically for Code 100 Snap-Switches. The switch machine provides the mechanical movement needed to position the turnout points and direct trains through the selected route.

Because operation is completely manual, there is no need to wire the switch machine to a control panel simply to throw the turnout. The operator reaches the switch and moves the lever by hand.

Left-Hand Switch Machine

ATL62 is specifically the left-hand configuration. Switch-machine orientation matters because the mechanism must properly align with the compatible track switch and its movable points.

For the opposite configuration, use the corresponding Atlas right-hand manual switch machine. Verify the required orientation of your Snap-Switch before selecting a replacement switch machine.

Simple Hand-Operated Turnout Control

Manual switch machines are particularly useful for turnouts located within easy reach of the operator. Rather than adding wiring and electrical turnout controls, the route can simply be changed directly at the track.

This straightforward operation works well for smaller layouts, industrial switching areas, yards, sidings and other locations where the operator can comfortably reach the turnout.

Manual vs. Remote Switch Machines

An Atlas manual switch machine requires the operator to physically move the lever at the turnout. A remote switch machine electrically moves the turnout points and allows the route to be changed from a separate control location.

Manual operation is a simple choice for switches located near the front of a layout, while remote operation may be preferable for turnouts located farther away or layouts using centralized turnout controls.

ATL62 is the manual switch machine itself and does not include a complete track turnout. It is intended for use with a compatible Atlas HO Code 100 Snap-Switch.

This makes ATL62 useful when replacing an existing manual switch machine or configuring compatible Atlas Code 100 trackwork for hand-operated turnout control.
