Atlas N Scale Code 55 22.5° Crossing – ATL2041 is a fixed sectional track crossing designed to allow two N scale rail routes to intersect at a 22.5° angle. Part of the Atlas N Scale Code 55 track system, this crossing features fine nickel silver rail with simulated brown wood ties for realistic, prototypical-looking trackwork.

Unlike a turnout or track switch, a crossing does not provide a selectable route. Instead, two independent tracks cross through one another, with each route continuing straight through the 22.5° intersection.

22.5° Fixed Track Crossing

The 22.5° crossing angle provides a fixed intersection for layouts where two separate tracks need to cross one another. It can be incorporated into junctions, yards, industrial areas and other complex track arrangements while keeping the two routes independent.

Crossing vs. Turnout

ATL2041 is a crossing, not a turnout or switch. A turnout allows a train to select between different routes using movable points. This fixed crossing instead allows one track to physically cross another while both routes continue straight through the intersection.

Trains cannot use ATL2041 to transfer from one crossing route to the other. This distinction makes crossings useful anywhere two independent routes need to intersect without creating a switching connection between them.

22.5° Crossing Geometry

The 22.5° angle provides a more pronounced intersection than the shallower Atlas Code 55 11.25° crossing while still offering relatively gradual crossing geometry. Choosing the appropriate crossing angle allows modelers to match the component to the geometry of their particular track plan.
