Each half section maintains the same 12.5" radius as the corresponding full-section curve while providing half of its angular length. Each ATL2015 section provides 11.25° of curvature, with the six pieces in this package providing a combined 67.5° of 12.5" radius curvature.

12.5" Radius Half-Section Curved Track

The term half section describes the angular length of each track piece—not half of the radius. ATL2015 remains a true 12.5" radius curve, allowing it to be combined with full-section 12.5" radius track while maintaining consistent curve geometry.

Fine-Tune 12.5" Radius Curves

Half-section curves give modelers greater control when building with fixed sectional track geometry. When a full curved section adds too much angular change, ATL2015 provides a smaller increment while maintaining the same 12.5" radius.

The Atlas 12.5" radius full section covers 22.5°, while this half section covers 11.25°. This makes it easy to combine full and half sections when more precise curve geometry is required.

Broader N Scale Curve Geometry

The 12.5" radius provides a broader curve than the 10" and 11.25" radius sectional curves in the Atlas Code 55 system. These half sections provide the additional flexibility needed to take advantage of that broader radius while making smaller angular adjustments to a track plan.

Check Your Equipment's Minimum Radius

Minimum-radius requirements vary between N scale locomotives and rolling stock. Always check the recommended minimum radius for your equipment before designing a track plan around 12.5" radius curves, particularly when operating longer locomotives, passenger cars or freight equipment.
