Atlas N Scale Code 55 60° Crossing – ATL2044 is a fixed sectional track crossing designed to allow two N scale rail routes to intersect at a 60° angle. Part of the Atlas N Scale Code 55 track system, this crossing features fine nickel silver rail with simulated brown wood ties for realistic, prototypical-looking trackwork.

Unlike a turnout or track switch, ATL2044 does not provide a selectable or diverging route. Instead, two independent tracks cross through one another, with each route continuing straight through the 60° intersection.

60° Fixed Track Crossing

The 60° crossing angle provides a relatively steep intersection for layouts where two separate tracks need to cross one another. It can be incorporated into junctions, yards, industrial areas and other complex track arrangements where independent routes physically intersect without connecting to one another.

Crossing vs. Turnout

ATL2044 is a crossing, not a turnout or track switch. A turnout uses movable points to direct a train between different routes. A fixed crossing instead allows one track to physically cross another while both routes continue independently through the intersection.

Trains cannot transfer from one crossing route to the other through ATL2044. This makes the crossing useful anywhere two separate routes need to intersect without creating a switching connection between them.

60° Crossing Geometry

With its 60° intersection angle, ATL2044 provides a steeper track intersection than Atlas Code 55 11.25°, 22.5°, 30° and 45° crossings. The availability of multiple crossing angles gives modelers greater flexibility when matching sectional track components to the geometry of a particular layout.
