EMD GP35 Prototype

Electro-Motive Division introduced the GP35 as a four-axle diesel-electric road locomotive during the mid-1960s. Powered by an EMD 567D3A 16-cylinder prime mover producing approximately 2,500 horsepower, the GP35 found homes on railroads throughout North America. More than 1,300 were produced for U.S. railroads, with additional locomotives built for Canadian and Mexican operators.
