The Tangent Scale Models HO Scale Conrail CR #244128 X60R Greenville 86' Quad Plug Door Boxcar recreates one of the massive high-cube auto-parts boxcars inherited from Penn Central and later repainted by Conrail. Originally delivered in 1970, these Greenville-built cars were designed for specialized automotive parts service and became some of the most visually distinctive freight cars operating on North American railroads.
Tangent models CR #244128 in its 1988+ Conrail X60R repaint appearance. Conrail repainted these former Penn Central cars in its brown freight car color during 1988, complete with white Conrail logo and lettering. The result is a classic late Conrail-era freight car that's right at home in automotive traffic, manifest trains and industrial operations from the late 1980s into the 2000s.
