Atlas HO Code 83 True-Track Track Bumpers – 2-Pack – ATL470 provides two finished track-end sections for terminating stub-ended tracks on HO scale model railroad layouts. Designed as part of the Atlas True-Track system, these track bumpers provide a physical stopping point at the end of the rails while maintaining the appearance and integrated roadbed construction of the surrounding True-Track.

What Does a Track Bumper Do?

A track bumper marks and physically protects the end of a railroad track where the rails terminate. Instead of leaving a stub-ended track unfinished, a bumper provides a recognizable end-of-track stopping point for locomotives and rolling stock.

Track bumpers are especially useful anywhere cars or locomotives are regularly moved toward the end of a track, including yards, engine facilities, industrial sidings and passenger terminals.

Finish Sidings, Spurs & Yard Tracks

Stub-ended tracks are common on prototype railroads and model railroad layouts alike. Industrial spurs may terminate alongside a loading facility, yard tracks may end at the edge of the available space, and engine facilities often contain several short storage or service tracks.

ATL470 provides a purpose-built True-Track component for finishing these locations instead of simply ending the railroad with an open piece of straight track.

Two Track Bumpers Per Package

Each ATL470 package contains two True-Track bumpers, allowing two separate tracks to be completed from a single package. This is particularly useful when constructing yards or industrial areas containing multiple stub-ended tracks.

Atlas HO Code 83 True-Track

Atlas True-Track combines Code 83 nickel silver rail and brown ties with integrated gray graveled roadbed. The roadbed features correctly angled shoulders and provides a realistic track-and-ballast appearance while retaining the convenience of an easy-to-assemble sectional track system.

The True-Track system can be assembled, disconnected and rearranged as a track plan changes, making it suitable for beginner layouts, temporary setups, portable railroads and permanent HO scale model railroads.

Build a Complete True-Track Layout

Track bumpers become increasingly useful as a layout expands beyond a basic continuous-running oval. Adding turnouts allows the railroad to branch into sidings, yards and industrial spurs, and ATL470 provides the proper component for finishing tracks that terminate within those areas.
