Atlas HO Code 83 1-1/2" Straight Track – 4-Pack – ATL523 includes four compact 1-1/2" straight sectional track pieces designed for precise HO scale track adjustments. These short sections are especially useful as filler track when standard 9", 6" or even 3" straight sections are too long for the available space.

Each package contains four 1-1/2" straight sections, providing a total of 6" of straight track. Part of the Atlas HO Code 83 track system, ATL523 features nickel silver rail and prototypically fine brown ties for realistic HO scale trackwork.

Four 1-1/2" Straight Track Sections

ATL523 provides four individual 1-1/2" straight sections. They can be used individually for very small adjustments or combined when a longer section is required.

Why Use 1-1/2" Straight Track?

The 1-1/2" straight section is a precision geometry and filler piece. Sectional-track layouts frequently contain locations where two components need to be connected but the remaining distance is too short for a standard straight section.

Rather than cutting a longer piece of track, ATL523 provides a factory-made 1-1/2" section that can be inserted directly into the track arrangement.

These short straight sections are particularly useful for:

• Adjusting connections around crossings

When a 3" Straight Is Still Too Long

This makes it particularly valuable when the remaining gap in a track plan is too small for a 3" section but still requires a factory-made piece of straight track.

Combine Sections for Different Lengths

Because each ATL523 section measures 1-1/2", the pieces can also be combined to create useful intermediate lengths. Two sections provide 3" of track, while all four sections connected together provide 6".

This flexibility makes the package useful to keep on hand when building or modifying sectional-track layouts where small spacing adjustments frequently arise.

Useful Around Turnouts & Crossings

Turnouts and crossings introduce fixed geometry into a track plan. Once several of these components are connected, the remaining distance between tracks may not match one of the longer standard straight sections.

Short 1-1/2" pieces help close those gaps while maintaining straight sectional-track geometry, making ATL523 especially useful in yards, industrial switching areas, passing sidings and other complex track arrangements.
