Thinning: Our enamels can be thinned using our enamel reducer, Mr. Leveling Thinner, or Lacquer thinner. Mineral Spirits or similar products cannot be used. Our enamel paints are a modern automotive grade product and will have a negative reaction to that type of thinner. The recommended thinning ratio is 3 parts paint to 2 parts thinner for gloss colors and 3 parts paint to 1 part thinner. You can go up to 1 to 1 but some colors will be a bit thin.
Air Pressure: 16-22 PSI. Adjust as necessary.
Hardener: 1003E is the hardener that is used with the paint colors to fully cure them in 8-16 hours. This hardener is not for the 1017E 2K clear. It can be used in our 1k clears (gloss, semi-gloss and flat) 11002E, 11003E, 11004E. Mixing ratio is 8 parts paint to 1 part hardener.
2K Clear: 1017E Clear and 1017EH are the 2 parts for our 2k clear. The mixing ratio is 2 parts clear(1017E) to 1 part hardener (1017EH) and then thin up to 1 to 1.
Primer: A good primer is recommended for use under our enamel paint line. Our 1004 Lt Gray Lacquer primer (air-brush ready), or our 1004E Lt Gray Enamel Primer is best.
