Why Choose Golden Taklon Flat Paintbrushes?

Golden Taklon brushes are popular among hobbyists for their synthetic bristles, versatility, and suitability for a variety of painting applications. Flat brushes are especially useful when painting surfaces that benefit from a wider, more even brush contact area.

Compared with round detail brushes, flat brushes provide a broader bristle profile that can help distribute paint across panels, straight edges, and textured surfaces.

The Atlas Brush Company ABS800F set includes five different brush sizes, making it a practical option for hobbyists who frequently work on projects requiring different levels of surface coverage.

Flat Brush Painting & Drybrushing Techniques

Flat paintbrushes are useful for traditional brush painting as well as selected drybrushing and highlighting techniques.

• General Brush Painting: Apply paint evenly across flat or gently contoured surfaces using controlled strokes.
• Edge Painting: Use the straight bristle edge to paint along panels, trim, and raised structural details.
• Drybrushing: Remove most of the paint from the bristles before lightly brushing across raised textures to create subtle highlights.
• Scenery Painting: Apply color to terrain, structures, roads, rocks, and miniature landscapes.
• Surface Highlighting: Add lighter colors to raised features and molded details for additional depth and realism.

Compatible Hobby Paints & Finishing Applications

Golden Taklon synthetic brushes can be used with a variety of compatible hobby painting media, including acrylic paints and other suitable model finishing products. Always follow the paint manufacturer's recommendations regarding brush compatibility, thinning, application, and cleaning.

These brushes are useful for general brush painting, surface coverage, edge detailing, scenery painting, and selected weathering techniques.

Brush Care & Maintenance

Proper cleaning and storage help maintain the shape and performance of Golden Taklon synthetic paintbrushes. Clean each brush promptly after use with a cleaner appropriate for the paint being applied, taking care not to damage the bristles.

Avoid allowing paint to dry near the ferrule. Gently reshape the flat brush edges after cleaning and allow the brushes to dry thoroughly before storage.

For best results, select the appropriate brush size for each painting task and avoid excessive pressure that could distort the bristle shape.
