New Haven 70-Ton Covered Hopper
Pullman-Standard 70-ton two-bay covered hoppers entered production during the mid-1950s and remained in service on North American railroads into the 2000s. Designed to transport bulk commodities such as cement, grain, and other heavy granular materials, these freight cars were commonly used in industrial service and general freight operations.
Bowser reproduces this classic covered hopper with a detailed injection-molded body, factory-applied New Haven decoration, and an open-side configuration. Free-rolling trucks with metal wheels and magnetic knuckle couplers make NH #117013 a practical addition to diesel-era freight trains and industrial switching operations.
