The NixTrainz Decoder Buddy Mini NTZ3 is a compact 21-pin DCC decoder adapter board designed for small steam and diesel locomotive installations where space is limited. It provides a structured wiring interface for modern 21-pin decoders, simplifying installation and improving long-term reliability.
The NTZ3 is part of the Decoder Buddy Mini platform and is intended for use with ESU LokSound, SoundTraxx Tsunami2, Digitrax, TCS, and other 21-pin compatible DCC decoders. It replaces direct decoder wiring with a modular motherboard layout for easier installation and servicing.
Compact 21-Pin Decoder Installation System
The NTZ3 routes locomotive wiring through clearly labeled solder pads for track power, motor outputs, speaker connections, and lighting functions. This eliminates direct soldering to the decoder and reduces installation errors.
It is designed specifically for tight locomotive shells including switchers, small diesels, and compact steam models.
Selectable Resistor Configuration
The NTZ3 supports multiple resistor configurations including 0Ω and 2.2K options depending on lighting setup requirements. This flexibility allows compatibility with both pre-resisted LED setups and direct LED installations.
