The Tangent Scale Models HO Scale Southern Railway PS4750 Covered Hopper SOU #88642 recreates one of Southern Railway's 1981 Pullman-Standard PS-2CD 4750 covered hoppers after decades of service. Modeled in its 2005+ appearance, #88642 retains its recognizable Southern identity while displaying the fading, updated lettering, safety markings and equipment changes accumulated during its long operating life.
Tangent photo-matched the individual cars in this release, giving SOU #88642 prototype-specific placement of patches, reweigh data, lettering and AEI equipment. The faded gray body is complemented by yellow conspicuity stripes and later-life updates, creating the appearance of a veteran freight car still earning its keep more than two decades after delivery.
