Representing the large turntables installed from the 1920s onward, this assembled model accommodates locomotives up to 9-3/4" (24.7cm) long and includes a motor, programmable control box, and Code 80 bridge rail. Turntables were essential at steam-era engine terminals, where locomotives had to be reversed at the end of a run or directed into individual roundhouse stalls and servicing tracks. Large 130-foot tables were built to handle increasingly powerful locomotives and continued to serve many diesel-era terminals, backshops, and preservation facilities. This N scale model is large enough for locomotives representing 4-8-4 Northerns, 2-10-2s, and even 4-8-8-4 Big Boys.

Programmable indexing allows the bridge to stop accurately at roundhouse stalls, ready tracks, locomotive-service tracks, and other approach routes. Up to 99 track positions can be stored, providing flexibility for anything from a compact servicing area to an extensive engine terminal. The one-touch reversing function also rotates the bridge 180 degrees in either direction for quickly turning a locomotive.

The supplied templates help locate the circular mounting opening and control box before installation. Code 80 rail is already installed on the bridge, while approach tracks can be arranged around the pit to suit the available layout space. An adjacent roundhouse, coaling tower, water tank, sanding facility, diesel-fueling area, or repair shop can turn the installation into a complete locomotive terminal.

The included control box provides local operation and an adjustable LED display. Additional control boxes can be installed when turntable operation is needed from several locations around a larger layout.
