Perfect for masking and the pricing and shipping speed from fusionscale is fantastic. I don't know that it's any better than silly putty but it beats the hell out of something like bluetac. I've only used it a couple times so can't speak to long term reusability but it's sticks well enough to itself and the model without pulling any paint up when you remove it. Outside the price tag once factoring shipping cost being almost 20$ for a little tub of silly puttyesque stuff, it's worth not having to hassle with other non purpose made stuff.
