Following the 1998 division of Conrail, Norfolk Southern acquired 58 former Conrail GP15-1 locomotives. Athearn Genesis recreates Norfolk Southern NS #1432 with road-number-specific details including no cab signal box, a rear plow, and exposed axle bearings. Additional Norfolk Southern features include class lights, a Leslie RS3L horn mounted on a low-profile bracket, front and rear ditch lights, and Blomberg B trucks. Extensive Genesis detailing includes operating number boards, a full cab interior, coupler cut levers, trainline and MU hoses, windshield wipers, wire grab irons, walkway tread, lift rings, sander lines, and fine-scale handrails.
