This highly detailed Genesis model represents Larry's Truck & Electric LTEX #1414, an ex-Conrail GP15-1 rebuilt for the locomotive leasing market. Larry's Truck & Electric purchases, rebuilds, and leases secondhand locomotives, making LTEX power an excellent choice for adding realistic leased locomotives to modern railroad operations.
LTEX #1414 is based on former Conrail #1634 and wears a blue and black paint scheme with road-number-specific details. Athearn equips #1414 with front and rear small EMD plows and a Nathan P-3 horn. Additional LTEX features include a blunt-style front anticlimber, Blomberg B trucks, removed nose class lights, illuminated number boards, and front and rear alternating flashing ditch lights.
Additional Genesis detailing includes a full cab interior, coupler cut levers, trainline and MU hoses, windshield wipers, wire grab irons, walkway tread, lift rings, sander lines, fine-scale handrails, and a detailed fuel tank. Underneath, Athearn's Genesis driveline combines a 5-pole skew-wound motor, precision-machined flywheels, a multi-link drivetrain, all-wheel drive, and all-wheel electrical pickup for smooth and reliable operation.
This model comes factory-equipped with a SoundTraxx Tsunami2 DCC/Sound decoder and dual cube speakers for high-quality sound. It operates on both DC and DCC layouts, with engine, horn, and bell sounds available during DC operation and full programmable functionality when operated with DCC.
