Atlas Master Gold HO Scale Conrail (Ex-LHR) ALCO C420 Locomotive CR #2073 - DCC/Sound
Add a distinctive piece of northeastern railroad history to your HO scale locomotive roster with the Atlas Master Gold ALCO C420 Conrail #2073. Representing a former Lehigh & Hudson River locomotive in Conrail service, this model features detailed Century Series construction, railroad-specific decoration, and factory-installed ESU LokSound DCC/Sound.
The ALCO C420 was introduced in 1963 as a 2,000-horsepower, four-axle road switcher powered by a turbocharged 12-cylinder ALCO 251 prime mover. The Lehigh & Hudson River was the first railroad to purchase the C420, making these locomotives an important part of the model's history. Following the formation of Conrail in 1976, former L&HR equipment became part of the new railroad's diverse diesel fleet.

Conrail ALCO C420 #2073 - Former Lehigh & Hudson River
Atlas' Conrail C420 #2073 represents one of the former Lehigh & Hudson River ALCO road switchers that became part of Conrail's early locomotive roster. These inherited locomotives contributed to the variety of diesel power operating throughout the Northeast during Conrail's formative years.
The C420's distinctive setback cab, extended short hood and ALCO styling make it a recognizable addition to an HO scale diesel fleet. With factory-installed LokSound, directional lighting and Atlas' smooth-running drive system, this model is well suited for layouts depicting northeastern freight operations and the early Conrail era.
