Atlas HO Code 100 25° Crossing – ATL172 is a fixed track section that allows two HO scale railroad tracks to intersect at a 25-degree angle. Built with solid nickel silver Code 100 rail and black injection-molded plastic ties, the crossing is designed to integrate directly into an Atlas HO Code 100 track system.

Unlike a turnout, a crossing does not route a train from one track to another. Instead, the two separate routes pass directly across each other through the precision-engineered crossing. The 25° angle makes this piece useful for railroad junctions, intersecting routes and specialized crossover arrangements where two tracks need to cross at a relatively shallow angle.

25° Crossing for Double Crossovers

One of the primary uses for this particular crossing is building a double crossover between two parallel tracks. Atlas specifically recommends combining the 25° crossing with #4 Custom-Line Mark 3 Turnouts when constructing this type of track arrangement.

A double crossover allows trains to move between two parallel tracks in either direction while keeping the overall track arrangement relatively compact. The precisely engineered 25° geometry of this crossing provides the intersection required at the center of the crossover.
