Introduced by Greenbrier Companies in 2013, the prototype 89-foot Multi-Max was designed with a flexible interior configuration that can be changed between bi-level and tri-level service without adding or removing decks. The racks are compatible with existing 89-foot autoracks and are commonly operated in groups with other autoracks or in dedicated automotive unit trains.
