Atlas specifies that 16 full sections create a complete 360° circle at the 10" radius. This means each ATL2010 curved track section provides 22.5° of curvature, while the six pieces included in this package provide a combined 135° of 10" radius curvature.

10" Radius Full-Section Curved Track

ATL2010 maintains a consistent 10" track radius throughout each curved section. The 10" radius makes these pieces useful for compact N scale track plans where available layout space is limited.

Understanding the 10" Radius

The 10" measurement describes the radius of the curve, not the length of an individual track section. When ATL2010 sections are connected together, they maintain the same 10" radius while progressively forming a larger portion of a circle.

Because Atlas specifies 16 sections for a complete circle, four sections create a 90° quarter-circle, eight sections create a 180° half-circle and sixteen sections create a complete 360° circle.

Compact N Scale Curve Geometry

A 10" radius can be useful when designing compact N scale layouts, branch lines, industrial areas and other locations where tighter curvature is appropriate. These sectional curves also provide predictable geometry, making them useful when planning track arrangements with fixed dimensions.

Always check the recommended minimum radius for your locomotives and rolling stock before designing a track plan around 10" radius curves. Longer locomotives and cars may require broader curves for reliable operation and appearance.
