The package contains 10 total Atlas Code 80 Snap-Track sections in three useful lengths: 2-1/2", 1-1/4" and 5/8". These shorter sections are ideal for filling small gaps, adjusting track length and creating precise connections between turnouts, crossings, curves and other fixed track components.

Featuring nickel silver Code 80 rail and black ties, ATL2509 integrates with the Atlas N Scale Code 80 track system and provides an easy sectional-track solution when a standard 5" straight section is too long for the available space.

Why Use Short Straight Track?

Short straight sections are particularly valuable when building with fixed-geometry sectional track. Track plans do not always leave enough room for another full-length straight section, especially around turnouts, crossings, yards and more complex track arrangements.

The assortment of 2-1/2", 1-1/4" and 5/8" sections allows small adjustments to the overall track length so adjoining components can be aligned more precisely.

Three Useful Straight Track Lengths

The assortment provides three progressively shorter track lengths. The 2-1/2" section is half the length of a standard Atlas 5" straight, while the 1-1/4" and 5/8" pieces provide increasingly fine adjustments.

The included lengths can also be combined when necessary. For example, two 1-1/4" sections equal 2-1/2", while two 5/8" sections equal 1-1/4". This modular sizing provides additional flexibility when designing or modifying a sectional-track layout.

Atlas N Scale Code 80 Snap-Track

ATL2509 is part of the Atlas N Scale Code 80 Snap-Track system. Code 80 rail measures approximately .080" high, and Atlas manufactures its Code 80 track with nickel silver rail and black railroad ties.

The extensive Atlas Code 80 system includes straight track, curved track, turnouts, crossings and Super-Flex Track, allowing sectional and flexible track components to be combined throughout an N scale model railroad.

Useful for Existing Layouts & New Construction

A short-track assortment is useful both when constructing a new railroad and when modifying an existing layout. Adding a turnout, changing a siding, replacing track or installing a new crossing can alter the required track length by a relatively small amount.

Having several short sectional-track lengths available makes it easier to compensate for those differences while maintaining clean track alignment.
