Atlas N Scale Code 80 1/2 9-3/4" Radius Curved Track – 6-Pack – ATL2511

Atlas N Scale Code 80 1/2 9-3/4" Radius Curved Track – 6-Pack – ATL2511 includes six fractional curved track sections designed for fine-tuning compact N scale track arrangements. These sections maintain the same 9-3/4" radius as standard Atlas 9-3/4" radius curved track while providing only half the angular length of a standard section.

Each 1/2 section provides approximately 15° of curvature. With six pieces included, ATL2511 provides 90° of total curvature per package. Featuring Code 80 nickel silver rail and black railroad ties, these sections integrate with the Atlas N Scale Code 80 track system.

1/2 9-3/4" Radius – Not a Smaller Radius

The “1/2” designation refers to the angular length of the track section, not the radius. ATL2511 still follows a full 9-3/4" radius curve.

A standard Atlas 9-3/4" radius curved track section provides approximately 30° of curvature. ATL2511 is half that section length, providing approximately 15° of curvature while maintaining the same 9-3/4" radius.

This distinction is important when planning track geometry: ATL2511 is not a 4-7/8" radius curve. It is a shorter section of a 9-3/4" radius curve.

15° Per Track Section

Because a standard 9-3/4" radius section covers approximately 30°, the 1/2 section provides approximately 15° of curvature.

The six pieces in one ATL2511 package therefore provide enough track for a 90° quarter-circle when used together.

Fine-Tune N Scale Curve Geometry

Fractional curved track is particularly useful when a standard 30° curved section creates too much curvature for the desired track arrangement. The shorter 15° sections allow modelers to make smaller angular adjustments while retaining the same fixed radius.

Combine with Standard 9-3/4" Radius Track

ATL2511 is particularly useful alongside standard Atlas 9-3/4" radius curved track. Since both follow the same radius, standard 30° sections and fractional 15° sections can be combined to create different total curve angles while maintaining consistent curvature.

For example, one standard 30° section combined with one ATL2511 15° section creates a 45° curve. This gives modelers greater flexibility when connecting fixed-geometry track components.

Compact 9-3/4" Radius

The 9-3/4" radius is useful for compact N scale layouts where available space is limited. It can be incorporated into continuous-running layouts, return curves, switching layouts and other space-conscious track plans.

Because minimum-radius requirements vary by locomotive and rolling stock, modelers should always check the equipment manufacturer's recommended minimum radius before designing a railroad around 9-3/4" radius curves.

Atlas N Scale Code 80 Track

ATL2511 is part of the Atlas N Scale Code 80 track system. Code 80 rail measures approximately .080" high and provides a durable track system with a large selection of sectional and flexible track components.

The nickel silver rail and black ties coordinate with other Atlas N Scale Code 80 straight track, curved track, turnouts, crossings and flex track.
