Atlas N Scale Code 80 45° Crossing – ATL2567 is a fixed-angle track crossing designed to allow two independent N scale railroad tracks to intersect at a 45-degree angle. Featuring Code 80 nickel silver rail and black railroad ties, this Atlas Snap-Track component integrates with compatible Atlas N Scale Code 80 track for building junctions, intersecting routes and complex track arrangements.

Unlike a turnout or switch, a crossing does not allow a train to change from one route to another. Instead, two independent tracks cross through one another while each route continues straight through the intersection.

45° Fixed Track Crossing

ATL2567 provides a predetermined 45° crossing angle, allowing two separate railroad tracks to intersect while maintaining their individual routes through the crossing.

This fixed crossing can be useful for a variety of N scale track arrangements, including:

Crossing vs. Turnout

A track crossing is not a turnout or switch. A turnout provides a diverging route that allows a train to move from one track alignment to another. A crossing simply allows two independent railroad tracks to intersect.

Trains entering ATL2567 from either route continue straight through the crossing rather than being diverted onto the intersecting track.

Atlas N Scale Code 80 Snap-Track

ATL2567 is part of the Atlas N Scale Code 80 Snap-Track system. Atlas Snap-Track components can be connected together for straightforward sectional-track layout construction while providing a wide selection of track geometry.

Nickel Silver Rail & Black Ties

The Atlas 45° Crossing features nickel silver Code 80 rail with black railroad ties, matching the construction and appearance of other Atlas N Scale Code 80 track components.

Code 80 refers to rail measuring approximately .080" high. Atlas Code 80 track has been used on N scale model railroads for decades and provides an extensive selection of compatible track components.

45° Crossing Geometry

The 45-degree crossing angle creates a more pronounced intersection than shallower 15°, 20° and 30° crossings. This makes ATL2567 useful where two railroad routes need to intersect at a substantial angle while continuing independently through the junction.

Because the crossing uses fixed geometry, the surrounding track should be planned so that all four approaches align properly with the crossing.

Build Complex N Scale Track Plans

Crossings expand the types of track arrangements that can be created beyond conventional straight and curved track. ATL2567 can be incorporated into junctions, industrial districts, yards, terminals and other areas where two independent railroad routes need to cross.
