Atlas N Scale Code 80 Standard Custom-Line Right Turnout – ATL2751

Atlas N Scale Code 80 Standard Custom-Line Right Turnout – ATL2751 is a right-hand turnout designed for creating sidings, yards, industrial tracks and other diverging routes on N scale model railroad layouts. Part of the Atlas N Scale Code 80 track system, this Custom-Line turnout features nickel silver rail, black ties, full-length ties and a double-ended throwbar for flexible turnout-control installation.

Unlike Atlas N scale switches designed with shortened ties for an attached switch machine, the Custom-Line design uses full-length ties and is intended for operation with an Atlas Under-Table Switch Machine or compatible ground throw. Atlas also includes one section of 19" radius curved track that can be used to create a reverse curve from the diverging route for easier construction of a parallel siding.

Right-Hand N Scale Turnout

ATL2751 is a right-hand turnout. When approached from the single-track end, the turnout provides a straight route along with a diverging route that branches toward the right.

This type of trackwork can be used throughout an N scale railroad to create additional routes for:

Atlas Custom-Line Design

Atlas Custom-Line turnouts differ from N scale switches designed around an attached surface-mounted switch machine. ATL2751 features full-length railroad ties, providing a cleaner track appearance when an under-table mechanism or ground throw is used.

The turnout also features a double-ended throwbar, allowing the turnout-control mechanism to be positioned on either side of the track depending on the layout installation.

Designed for Under-Table or Ground-Throw Operation

Atlas designs its N Scale Custom-Line switches for use with the Atlas Under-Table Switch Machine or a compatible ground throw.

An under-table switch machine allows the operating mechanism to be installed beneath the layout rather than alongside the track, while a ground throw provides direct manual turnout control at track level.

Includes 19" Radius Curved Track

ATL2751 includes one section of 19" radius curved track. Atlas provides this additional section so modelers can create a reverse curve from the turnout's diverging route, making it easier to establish a track running parallel with the straight route.

This is particularly useful when constructing passing sidings, yard tracks and other arrangements where the diverging route needs to return toward a parallel alignment.

Great for Sidings, Yards & Industrial Tracks

A turnout provides a selectable route that allows a train to continue along the straight alignment or move onto the diverging route. This makes ATL2751 useful anywhere an N scale railroad needs to branch from one track into another.

Right-hand turnouts are commonly used for passing sidings, classification yards, industrial spurs, terminal facilities, storage tracks and other operating areas.

Turnout vs. Crossing

A turnout allows trains to move between two different track routes. This differs from a crossing, where two independent tracks simply intersect and trains continue straight through the intersection.

ATL2751 is therefore used when a railroad needs a selectable diverging route rather than simply allowing one track to cross another.

Atlas N Scale Code 80 Track

ATL2751 is part of the Atlas N Scale Code 80 track system. Atlas Code 80 track features nickel silver rail and black railroad ties and includes a broad selection of straight track, curved track, turnouts, crossings and flexible track.

Code 80 refers to rail measuring approximately .080" high, providing a durable and versatile track system for N scale model railroad construction.
