Atlas HO Code 83 True-Track 18" Radius Curved Track – 4-Pack – ATL460 includes four curved track sections for building compact curves and continuous-running HO scale model railroad layouts. Each section features an 18" radius and 30° of curvature, with Atlas Code 83 nickel silver track mounted on integrated gray graveled roadbed.

Atlas specifies that 12 sections create a complete 36" diameter circle. With four sections included in this package, ATL460 provides 120° of total curvature, or one-third of a complete circle.

Build an 18" Radius Curve

ATL460 provides fixed 18" radius geometry, making it easy to create consistent curves without manually forming flex track. Each piece contributes 30° to the curve, so the sections can be combined in different quantities depending on the track plan.

For example:

• 1 section: 30° curve
• 2 sections: 60° curve
• 3 sections: 90° curve
• 4 sections: 120° curve
• 6 sections: 180° semicircle
• 12 sections: 360° complete circle

36" Diameter Complete Circle

Twelve ATL460 18" radius sections are required to create a complete circle. An 18" track radius produces a 36" track diameter, making this geometry useful for HO layouts where available space is limited.

Remember that the actual layout space required will be greater than 36" because additional clearance is needed outside the track centerline for the roadbed, trains, scenery and the edge of the layout.

Where Is 18" Radius Track Useful?

An 18" radius is commonly used when building compact HO scale track plans. These curved sections can be used for:

Check Your Equipment's Minimum Radius

Always check the manufacturer's recommended minimum radius for the locomotives and rolling stock you plan to operate. Longer locomotives and passenger cars may require broader curves for reliable operation and a more realistic appearance.

Atlas HO Code 83 True-Track

Atlas True-Track combines Code 83 nickel silver rail and brown ties with integrated gray graveled roadbed. The roadbed features correctly angled shoulders and provides the appearance of track installed over ballast without requiring separate roadbed for basic setup.

The sectional design makes True-Track easy to assemble, disconnect and rearrange, making it suitable for beginner layouts, temporary setups, portable railroads and permanent HO scale layouts.

Removable Code 83 Track

Atlas HO True-Track uses Code 83 Snap-Track that can be removed from the molded roadbed and used separately. This gives modelers additional flexibility if the track is later incorporated into a more permanent layout using a different roadbed or scenery system.
