Atlas HO Code 83 6" Straight Track – 4-Pack – ATL521 includes four 6" straight sectional track pieces for building and expanding HO scale model railroad layouts. The shorter 6" length provides additional flexibility when a standard 9" straight section is too long, making these pieces useful for sidings, yards, industrial tracks and precise sectional-track arrangements.

Each package contains four 6" straight sections, providing a total of 24" or 2 feet of straight track. Part of the Atlas HO Code 83 track system, ATL521 features nickel silver rail and prototypically fine brown ties for realistic HO scale trackwork.

Why Use 6" Straight Track?

A 6" straight section provides a useful alternative to the standard 9" sectional track piece. When a track plan requires less than a full 9" section, ATL521 allows the route to be shortened while maintaining predictable factory-made sectional-track geometry.

Useful for Sectional Track Geometry

Atlas sectional track uses fixed lengths that make layout planning predictable and repeatable. Having several straight-track lengths available allows modelers to combine sections to reach the distance required by a particular track plan.

The 6" section fills the gap between longer standard straight track and the much shorter filler sections used for fine adjustments. It can be combined with other Atlas Code 83 straight-track lengths to create a wide variety of track arrangements without cutting flex track.

6" vs. 9" Straight Track

The standard 9" straight section is useful for longer straightaways, while the 6" section provides greater flexibility where space is limited. The three-inch difference can be important when fitting track between turnouts, crossings, structures or existing sections of a layout.

For even smaller adjustments, shorter Atlas Code 83 straight sections can be combined with ATL521 to fine-tune the final track length.
