Atlas HO Code 83 2" Straight Track – 4-Pack – ATL525 includes four short 2" straight sectional track pieces for building, adjusting and expanding HO scale model railroad layouts. These compact sections are especially useful as filler pieces and geometry adjustments when a standard-length straight track section is too long for the available space.

Each package contains four 2" straight sections, providing a total of 8" of straight track. Part of the Atlas HO Code 83 track system, ATL525 features nickel silver rail and prototypically fine brown ties for realistic HO scale trackwork.

Why Use 2" Straight Track?

Short straight sections are valuable when building sectional-track layouts because not every track arrangement works out to a standard 9" straight section. Fine-Tune Sectional Track Geometry

Atlas sectional track uses predetermined lengths and geometry, making track planning predictable and repeatable. As layouts become more complex, however, small gaps can develop between turnouts, crossings and other fixed track components.

A short 2" section provides an easy way to fine-tune track length without cutting a longer section. This can be especially helpful when adding a new siding, modifying a yard or connecting two existing sections of trackwork.

2" Straight Track vs. Standard 9" Straight Track

A standard 9" straight section is ideal for building longer straight runs, while the 2" section serves a different purpose. Its short length makes it a problem-solving piece for locations where only a small amount of additional track is required.

Using factory-made short sections can also eliminate the need to measure and cut longer sectional or flex track simply to fill a small gap.

Atlas HO Code 83 Track

Atlas HO Code 83 track features prototypically fine brown ties and nickel silver rail. The finer Code 83 rail profile provides a more scale-appropriate appearance than traditional Code 100 track while maintaining dependable operation for HO scale model railroads.
