Bowser 43062 HO Scale Union Railroad H21a 4-Bay Clamshell Hopper #15022 – Ready-to-Run
Add a classic eastern coal-hauling hopper to your freight roster with the Bowser 43062 HO Scale H21a 4-Bay Clamshell Hopper, decorated for Union Railroad #15022. Based on the legendary Pennsylvania Railroad H21a design, these iconic quad hoppers were among the most common coal cars operating across North America during the steam and early diesel eras.
Originally built between 1911 and 1917, the PRR H21a hopper fleet exceeded 36,000 cars and became a standard for coal and coke service. Many were later sold or transferred to connecting railroads including Union Railroad, making these freight cars perfect for realistic Appalachian coal operations and heavy industrial layouts. This ready-to-run Bowser model features crisp paint and lettering, detailed underbody components, metal wheelsets, and knuckle couplers for dependable operation right out of the box.
Expand your freight roster with more HO scale trains and rolling stock, browse additional Bowser model railroad products, or add realistic coal dust, rust, and grime using our paint and weathering supplies for authentic weathered hopper finishes.
