The Tangent Scale Models HO Scale Soo Line PS4750 Covered Hopper SOO #84257 recreates a distinctive secondhand Pullman-Standard covered hopper acquired as Soo Line expanded its grain-hauling fleet during the 1980s. This former PTLX lease car is modeled in its 1985+ ex-Roland & Nevada appearance, combining its earlier blue paint and weathered markings with understated Soo Line patches.

Rather than receiving an extensive repaint, the prototype was economically relettered for its new owner. “SOO” was carefully patched over the former PTLX reporting marks along with the first digit of the previous Pullman lease-series number. The weathered blue body and peeling Roland & Nevada “RN” logo panel preserve much of the car's earlier identity, giving SOO #84257 the unmistakable appearance of a hard-working secondhand freight car.
