These HO Scale cabooses are ideal for modelers recreating Erie, Erie Lackawanna, Conrail and other operations spanning several decades of northeastern railroad history.

Erie Railroad ICC Bay Window Caboose

In 1953, the Erie Railroad received a fleet of 50 modern all-steel bay window cabooses from International Car Corporation in Kenton, Ohio. The cars featured distinctive riveted construction, bay windows, a Stanray diagonal-panel roof with an overhanging edge and other recognizable details that distinguished them from Erie's earlier cupola cabooses.

The original Erie cabooses were numbered C301 through C350 and were built for mainline freight service. As railroad ownership and operating requirements changed, these cars evolved through multiple configurations and paint schemes, providing modelers with an unusually broad selection of prototype possibilities from a single caboose design.

Erie, Erie Lackawanna, Conrail & D&H Cabooses

Following the Erie and Delaware, Lackawanna & Western merger, the cabooses continued operating for Erie Lackawanna. Many later entered Conrail service, where surviving cars were classified as N7D cabooses and received additional modifications for their new owner. Other examples eventually operated for the Delaware & Hudson, extending the useful modeling era of this distinctive ICC caboose design well beyond its original Erie service.

Ready-to-run versions feature CNC-machined wheels and genuine Kadee scale couplers. Many decorated releases also incorporate functional lighting appropriate to the prototype and era, including interior illumination and either illuminated end lanterns or later marker lighting arrangements.
